Ascully reviews Zalman Theatre 6 ZM-RS6F Real Surround Sound Headphones. If you want to make the most of your 5.1 audio, and using regular 5.1 speakers in your work(gaming)space is impractical or you’ve been put off by all those trailing wires, these might be worth a look:

-Zalman is a name computer enthusiasts are familiar with. It’s a company that specializes in the field of quiet PC components. I actually run Zalman flower heatsinks in the two main PC’s here in my home office and they are very very quiet. So, it was a surprise to me when I learned that Zalman have started to make high quality surround sound headphones that are a long way from being quiet :) The new Zalman Theatre 6 ZM-RS6F Real Surround Sound Headphones (Try saying that with your mouth full) are part of Zalman’s new audio range. These headphones claim to bring the home theatre experience to any PC with a 5.1 soundcard. This, my friends, is a great idea because hooking up 5.1 surround speakers in a home office environment is often an impossibility.

. . . The sound from these headphones is rich, vibrant and best of all very very loud. The surround effect is perfect and you can tell which direction sound is supposed to come from with ease. One reservation I did have though is the lack of a volume control on the headphone cord. The cord is really long which is great if you need to move about during listening sessions but the lack of a volume control means you have to leave a game or movie to adjust sound levels which kind of sucks.
