Since Monday morning, the hardware and gaming communities have put together over $27,000 in support for Heather Smith and her family. The dual Opteron raffle will continue through this week.
Your Help Is Needed: With the assistance of AMD, MSI, Corsair, and Wahoo Computers,
we are going to raffle off a one-of-a-kind barebones system. Specs: Custom laser cut and hand airbrushed [H] LianLi Aluminum
Case (color matched optic drive, custom cut flame fan grills, nickel plated front
bezel), Dual AMD Opteron CPUs, MSI K8T Master2-FAR motherboard, 1GB Registered
Corsair DDR, HardOCP supplied Hard Drives (A pair) & PSU. Here is how you can help. Raffle entries are US$10 with no limit
on the amount of your buy. Please send your PayPal to kyle@kylebennett.com. (We
do take credit card as well.) Should you wish to simply donate and not enter the
raffle, please add one cent to your donation (like $20.01) so we can make sure
it is not entered in the raffle. All money collected after PayPal fees will go
to Brian Smith’s family. Your Help Is Needed @ HardOCP
A long time member of our community from ProCooling.com is in need. Brian Smith’s
wife Heather, gave birth last month to their fourth healthy child. Shortly after,
she suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. Three days later, she suffered another stroke
and the doctors gave her a 50% chance to live, which she survived. Brian has been
told to never expect Heather to be able to care for her children again, who counted
on her as a full time Mom and home school teacher. Brian, a software engineer
for Cascade Micro, has explained they have good hospital insurance. However, the
insurance will not cover most of the out-patient therapies that Heather is going
to need if she will ever again have a chance at living a somewhat normal life
even close to what most of you reading this enjoy. We at HardOCP want to try our
best to see that Heather and Brian get the help they are going to need.
