Well looks like I got caught napping (not that, thats anything out of the ordinary). I see over at xbit labs that Western Digital is going to launch a 10,000rpm SATA drive on Feb. 11, 2003. Remember, that’s the day after AMD launches the Barton, which I’m sure we are all looking forward to.
Seeing as how the slowest piece of equipment in just about everybody’s computer system is the hard drive. It’s about time us cheap consumers got some fast hard drives without breaking the bank on SCSI. I sure hope these drives give a much better performance boost than some of the earlier implementations of first generation SATA drives we have seen. I cant wait.
