The Thermaltake Golden Orb II is a very capable CPU cooler. It is compatible with all modern, mainstream CPUs and provides a quiet cooling solution that most anyone would probably be happy with. For tweakers who want to be in control of everything in their case, this certainly would not be a cooler on their radar. Also, the Intel cooler performs better when running at constant high-speed, but this better performance comes at the price of much more added noise when compared to the Golden Orb II’s noise level.
This week I have taken a look at Thermaltake’s Blue OrbII cpu cooler which can be used for both Intel LGA775 and AMD K8 sockets.. ..Some might think Thermaltake ripped off this design from Zalman’s 7000 series, but I must disagree. Thermaltake did a good job with implementing the pantended "Radian Crotched Fin" all 140 of them, making it a product that diserves reqognition. The 120mm fan maximizes the airflow and doing it very silent. The blue finish on the fins and the blue led makes it a real eyecatcher when used in a open case. Performancewise the Thermaltake Blue OrbII will fit in fine in the high-end market. Editor’s Choice Award
