Envy News’ Matthyahuw takes a look at the Steelpad 4D mousepad:
A quick glance around the web showed that the Steelpad 4S was a superb product. Most sites enjoyed the design and response from it. The 4D is its successor, hoping to improve on the limited drawbacks the 4S had. The biggest incovenience was stated on their website: “Does not work with Logitech Optical mice other than the MX Series”. Apparently, the ability for certain optical mice to track on the pad was hit or miss. And since optical mice form a large chunk of users, they solved the problem by creating a double sided mousepad. The first is super smooth while the second is rough to the touch. Either is fully functional because the rubber “feet” are a completely separate piece of material. If you have ever noticed the anti skid material beneath a throw rug, it is the same stuff. And if you have ever tried to roll it up, I am sure you are aware of its ability to hold its ground.
