According to StarWars.com, the saga’s creator George Lucas told attendees at the fan convention Celebration III in Indianapolis Saturday that he is working on two "Star Wars"-related television projects after "Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith."

The first, "Clone Wars," actually exists as series of animated shorts on the Cartoon Network, but Lucas said it will be turned into a "3-D animated version full-series" 30 minutes in length. But the surprise came with his announcement of a live-action spin-off series that will take place between movie Episodes III and IV.

Coming Soon "Lucas confirmed that they are working on two TV series. One will be a half hour 3-D computer animated series and the other is a live action series. The live action series will star some of the characters featured in the movies, though not the main characters. Lucas will kick-off the series himself. They are planning on writing the entire first season and then shooting Season One all at once. He mentioned Lucasfilm is aiming for a production start in about a year."

Detroit Free Press, "When he made the original "Star Wars," Lucas said, he had background stories for what would become the "Star Wars" prequels, but he never thought beyond "Return of the Jedi." The story was meant to begin with the birth of Darth Vader, also known as Anakin Skywalker, and end with his death, Lucas told fans at the convention.

"Lucas didn’t completely rule out a "Star Wars"-related movie that centered on a different storyline or topic, but he didn’t elaborate about what that storyline might be."
