Sony Ericsson W550i Walkman Camera Phone Review

December 13th 2005 | Phones

With the release of the W550i, Sony Ericsson has finally plugged a void in its product portfolio for a ‘Walkman’ camera phone priced affordably enough to woo students and young executives. Naturally, styling was one of the key consideration points going into the development of the W550i and what’s a more obvious way of seeing this than the swanky swivel form factor design first used in the head turning S700i.

Being only the second ‘Walkman’ phone to emerge from Sony Ericsson, the W550i is expected to be very similar to the W800i in more ways than just the ‘Walkman’ commonality.

On the whole, the new W550i is a pleasant camera phone to use. Despite the somewhat weak reception quality experienced along the course of this review, there were still enough positive attributes such as a long battery life, ease of use, high responsiveness, great bundle, and decent audio quality to impress us.
