NVIDIA wants to prove it is really good at H.264 decoding. Toshiba seems to think it knows what it’s doing, as it picked an Nvidia GPU for its first HD DVD-capable notebook. Now Sony has decided to use Nvidian GPUs in new Vaio notebook and desktop machines.

Nvidia is in a nice deep bed with Sony so no surprises there. It has been supplying the Japanese giant with some HDMI-capable cards since February and is about to do the Playstation thang at some point.
