January 3rd 2003 | Graphics Cards

Soltek have launched a new product pitched at the high-end mainstream graphics market - the Soltek Xabre 600 Graphics Card.

Based on the same 0.13-micron manufacturing process as NVIDIA’s GeForce FX, the Soltek Xabre 600 supports AGP8X, DirectX 8.1 and has 64MB of DDR mem running at 300Mhz. Other features include SIS Xmart technologies: XmartDrive, XmartVision, XmartAGP; it also uses the Xminator-II Unified Driver.

According to chip-maker SIS, the Xabre 600’s performance is at least 20 percent better than the Xabre 400 in 3D Mark tests, and is targeted at ATi’s Radeon 9000 and NVIDIA’s MX440 cards as is borne out in Soltek’s own benchmarks.
