SOLTEK - Yellow Fever : Soltek’s SL-75FRN-L Golden Flame nForce2

February 6th 2003 | Hardware

Here’s another look at Soltek’s SL 75FRN-L Golden Flame motherboard (nForce2 SPP/MCP).

GamePC’s review also compares performance with two nForce2 SPP based boards from ASUS and MSI (A7N8X Deluxe and K7N2), Shuttle’s nForce2 IGP based SN41G2 and a KT400 based Asus A7V8X.

“Performance wise, there is basically no difference in the numbers with the Soltek Golden Flame against any other nVidia nForce2 SPP/IGP board we’ve tested to date. The Soltek actually has a very slight performance advantage over the competition, but again, not really enough to notice a difference in real world applications. The board’s overclocking options are nice, and the BIOS system allows for a tremendous amount of customization with memory functions as well. While we love to see board makers taking chances with their board designs, which is why we gave the Soltek Golden Flame board an entire lab report to itself. We hope Soltek continues to expand their board designs for the Golden Flame line, perhaps with new chipsets or additional onboard features for their nForce2 models. Who knows, maybe yellow will catch on as Soltek’s color.”
