SOLTEK - Soltek SL-75FRN2-L (nForce2 Ultra 400) Review

May 19th 2003 | Hardware

Less than a month back, we received a SL-75FRN-L board based on the nForce2 chipset revision that we have tried and tested among the various nForce2 boards we have reviewed. The SL-75FRN2-L is the same board as the one sent to us initially in every other way except that this new board utilizes the just announced NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400. This chipset had been lingering around for quite sometime now, but it had only been known as a new chipset revision rather than as a new model altogether. However, it is logically more accurate to say that the nForce2 Ultra 400 is nothing more than a new chipset revision because that is what it is. Recent yield improvements and optimizations have made the nForce2 ‘Northbridge’ chip more overclockable as NVIDIA puts it. As a result, this revision supports FSB400 officially and is possible to crank it up even more if you have the right goods and settings.
