The SilverStone LC03V has been designed to blend in perfectly with modern audio-video equipment and permits using both a full size ATX motherboard and standard ATX power supply. The SilverStone Lascala LC03V HTPC case is available in either silver or black and differs from the original LC03 in three ways.
1. The most obvious difference is the addition of the two-line VFD, which can be programmed to display a wide variety of information.
2. SilverStone includes a PCI slot bracket to accommodate passing the VFD interface cable out the back of the enclosure where it plugs into the PC’s parallel port.
3. To make room for the VFD, SilverStone made the 3.5” bay door smaller and eliminated the front panel I/O ports (USB, IEEE-1394 Firewire, and Microphone-in, Headphones-out).
. . .The SilverStone Lascala LC03V enclosure is one of best (if not the best :) HTPC cases available today. For those seeking a high end HTPC enclosure, you need look no further. The three main things I like about this case are:
1. Overall styling and build quality
2. Room to mount a full ATX motherboard and PSU
3. Potential to provide excellent cooling with minimal noise
The Vacuum Fluorescent Display is icing on the cake! The display looks great and is easy to read from across the room without being intrusive or distracting in a dim home theater environment.
