[Shuttle] is positioning its monitor products at the high end, hoping that people will like to match their XPC machines with a screen to match. Just months after introducing its first XP17 display with 16 ms refresh time, company is ready with a refreshed version of the product, this time offering a claimed 8ms response time. Faster refresh time will help when playing games but even the old one with 16 ms was good enough for me while playing games including Doom 3, Far Cry and Half Life 2.
The XP17 V2 includes Shuttle’s 6bitFRC panel LCD supporting a claimed 16.2 million hues. It’s made with second generation tempered glass. Like its predecessor it supports 1280×1024 native resolution at 60Hz. This time we tested the silver version of the display while it’s available in black and there are some versions made of plastic as well.
