Style is something that Shuttle has definitely helped implementing in the PC industry with their XPCs. Keeping this idea in mind, Shuttle is now adding more products to their portfolio starting off with LCD screens. These sleek display devices have been selling well for the last few quarters replacing the big and bulky monitors we’re used to. Shuttle’s entry into the LCD seems like an ideal move for them- they can now pair the lean mean XPC machine with an even sleeker XP17.
. . .The XP17 will set you back $650 or about AED 2400/-. Considering the fact that 17” LCD screens can be bought for about AED 1500-1600, the XP17 sure doesn’t come cheap. But then again, the make and quality of the LCD don’t look cheap from any angle. There were zero dead pixels on our screen and the brightness level was definitely amongst the best.
The design of the unit is also very impressive and is sure to turn heads. The only complain we have is the amount of glare that’s produced by the XP17 when its kept close to a light source. If you’re not planning on keeping your LCD around a window, then we think that the XP17 is an excellent although slightly expensive buy.
