The XPC SN95G5 is not the first AMD Athlon 64 barebone system from Shuttle, but it is the first one to use a Socket 939 motherboard. This is of particular interest to the SPCR community because of the high performance and low power consumption 90nm Winchester core AMD Athlon 64 processors available in the 939 socket. By combining top-of-the-line processor support with the well developed nVIDIA nForce 3 Ultra chipset, Shuttle has made it possible to build a truly high-end Small Form Factor PC. It is very small and looks really good.
..The XPC SN95G5 is a nice AMD A64-939 addition to the Shuttle SFF lineup. It packs a lot of performance in a very small, elegant package, and runs fairly quietly, at least with our choice of processor. The CPU cooling system appears to have plenty of headroom for hotter processors, although probably not at as low a noise level.. .. All in all, the SN95G5 is a full-featured, small, powerful and attractive SFF platform that should be quiet enough for most people if set up correctly with the right components.
