Shuttle SN25P nForce4 SFF Review

April 26th 2005 | nForce4

The SN25P is Shuttle’s latest foray in to the Athlon64 socket 939 market. This system is designed with the much hyped NVIDIA nForce4 MCP chipset, supporting all Athlon64-based socket 939 CPUs, DDR RAM modules operating in Dual Channel mode, and PCI Express x16 type video cards. Being a small form factor solution means that the SN25P requires the minimum amount of components for a functioning system, including the following: Athlon64 socket 939 CPU, DDR memory, and a PCI Express x16 video card.

..The Shuttle SN25P is a great accomplishment by Shuttle and this SFF system is likely to satisfy a large percentage of the market looking for a smaller footprint, especially for those that want to use it for gaming. The only thing standing between the SN25P and a “Must Have Hardware” award is the non-repeatable hard drive issues we experienced. Tim Daniel, a staff member here at HardOCP, has purchased a SN25P for himself, so maybe our thoughts about the hard drive controller will change over the long term. Kudos to Shuttle for another job very well done. If you’re interested in a SFF system, we highly suggest you give this system a look for your next purchase.
