SHUTTLE - Shuttle SN85G4 XPC Preview - nForce3³

Friends, it’s finally here… Shuttle’s SN85G4 XPC sporting the brand new AMD Athlon 64 CPU, powered by nVidia’s nForce3 chipset. And as if that wasn’t enough, Shuttle has introduced a brand new case design with the SN85G4, denoted by the “G4” suffix. But before you whip out that credit card, you better have a look at our preview…

Despite the trouble we had with our preview/review unit, the SN85G4 looks very promising. Once again, hats off to Shuttle for releasing this system in tune with AMD’s release of the Athlon 64. It’s impressive when Small Form Factor systems meet or beat release dates for equivalent full sized desktop workstations. Makes me wonder if I’ll ever go back to that big old beige box again.
