SHUTTLE - Shuttle SN41G2 nForce2 IGP/MCP-T SFF Review @ OCWorkbench

January 6th 2003 | Hardware

One of the first reviews of the Shuttle SN41G2 (nForce2 IGP/MCP-T) to hit the net is over at OCWorkbench.

The review, by Overclocker, features lots of pics and includes benchmark comparisons against a K7S5AG (SiS746), ABIT KD7 (VIA KT400) and Epox 8RDA+ (nForce2 SPP). In some of OCW’s tests the Shuttle SN41G2 comes out on top, even outperforming the EPoX 8RDA+!

Users of the Shuttle SS40 must have been waiting for this AMD box for a long long time. With the recent proven performance lead of nForce2 in the AMD mainboards, Shuttle introduces its long awaited SN41G2. SN41G2 is an integrated board using the nVIDIA’s nForce2 IGP chipset that provides not only Dolby Digital audio, it also includes a dual view VGA with on board GF4 MX equivalent video performance. With the nForce2 Dual Channel DDR technology, it brings games to another level with better overall system performance. This box only measures (L)300*(W)200*(H)185 2.85Kg (N.W.) and a weight of 4.48Kg (G.W.) and it definitely suits most modern homes.

…Overall, I find that the Shuttle SN41G2 is the first nForce2 box that provides the best AMD experience to date. The only drawback which is due to chipset is that async memory settings won’t run as fast as running in Sync mode e.g. 266/266, 333/333 (AXP2700/2800+). Well, that is my findings.
