Although most people know Shuttle as the XPC company, it has also created a reputation for itself in the motherboard market by producing feature rich boards with decent overclocking options that can be bought at a very reasonable price. We take a look at their nForce3-250 based AN51R motherboard for the Athlon64/Socket 754 platform and feel that it matches Shuttle’s philosophy well.
…Once again Shuttle almost succeeds in creating a board that’s good on features, offers good performance and probably won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Overclocking options are also there and we feel that with BIOS updates, you should be able to utilize them better. The presence of the clearing CMOS switch on the back panel is also a cool idea that we’ve seen implemented on an XPC in the past. Overall, we’re pleased with the AN51R. Score: 86
