MetkuMods reviews the Shuttle AN50R motherboard:

Expectations were high when Shuttle AN50R arrived to our test lab and it managed to fill them quite nicely. AN50R hasn’t actually been award winning and highly praised motherboard on various reviews that have been floating over the net, but many users who have bought this motherboard have been very happy with it. I can say that during our very long test period Shuttle AN50R have impressed me in various ways. It’s overclockability, performance and integrated features, except audio, are top quality.

Shuttle AN50Rs layout and features are mainly good. But few extra SATA ports wouldn’t hurt. Especially overclocking features are top quality although hardcore overclockers have to do some modifications to achieve higher voltages. Biggest problems on Shuttle AN50R were memory compatibility related. It could be possible that new stepping of the Athlon 64 processors could correct this problem since memory controller is after all in the processor core. Only time will tell.
