SHUTTLE – Shuttle AN50R nForce3 150 Motherboard Review

February 9th 2004 | Hardware

Digital Daily reviews the Shuttle AN50R socket 754 motherboard:

We’ve known the produce of Shuttle for a long while. In particular, in our test lab there have been Shuttle motherboards AK35GT2 (VIA KT333) and AK37GTR (KT400) which left very good impressions. Unfortunately, the company is increasingly focusing on the barebone systems market (a leader of the sector) and is not so active at promoting its motherboards (it is really difficult to make its products built on nForce II and KT600 chipsets available in the retail). However, Shuttle is not deserting the motherboard market completely – e.g. for Athlon64 processors, the new AN50R motherboard built on the nForce3 150 chipset has been presented.

..Shuttle AN50R left good impresions: for its relatively low price (~$130), the user gets a very stable and fast board with good expansion options and abundant BIOS settings. The only thing what may cause complaints is the scanty package bundle. In fact, it is fully worth the price of the product. Along with that, the board can boast a rich set of overclocking tools. Among the shortcomings, there is only the missing support for the Cool’n'Quiet technology.
