One of the biggest hard drives currently out there, the Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 500GB (ST3500641AS) is a Serial ATA II drive with 16MB of cache, 7200 RPM, four 125GB platters, 8.5ms seek time, and of course, Native Command Queuing:
It is a monster of a drive that will fill the needs of anyone looking for the most space possible out of one hard drive. However once again we come to the price of this drive, which is no cheaper than $337 USD currently on Dealtime. With the recent price drop of 300GB drives, you could easily drop less money on two Seagate 300GB hard drives and throw them into a RAID configuration. Thus, ending up with a cheaper and faster setup.
If you absolutely need 500GB per drive then this Seagate 500GB 7200.9 hard drive is the way to go.
