Feanor has posted some SATA and PATA benchmarks taken using his ASUS A7N8X:
“A lot of people have been curious about using SATA converters, so I thought I’d post some benchmarks using both PATA and SATA with a single WD 800JB.
I am using the soyo converter and I found that the CF1-3 jumper settings do make a difference, setting the jumpers to 100 MHz/Mbps did lower the max transfer speed (it says MHz in the manual and Mbps on the back of the card). As you can see, there is not a whole lot of difference. I ran each setting three times and these are about average. Do these look about right?”
