Sapphire Radeon X1900XT & X1900XTX 512MB GDDR3

With 3 times more pixel shaders than X1800XT, the new X1900 series has proved its worth and outshines the X1800 in more demanding benchmarks like 3DMark 2005 and 2006. The new R580 core has 20% more transistors than the R520, packed with the same 90nm process and cooled by the same copper heatsink fan. We were surprised that the X1900XT was rather overclockable, we manage to push the X1900XT by about 9%, from 621/1440 to 679/1566.

With such high core/mem speed, a large and noisy heatsink fan is inevitable. Fortunately, this isn’t as bad because the fan and clock speed will be lowered automatically in 2D mode, so that you can still enjoy your net surfing peacefully.
