SanDisk Launches Made for Sansa Accessory Program, Sansa Base Station

Large array of accessories - from headphones to speaker systems - announced for SanDisk’s Sansa MP3 players. Seven companies will launch more than 40 products as part of new SanDisk Made for Sansa licensing program. New Sansa Base Station transforms SanDisk MP3 players into jukeboxes for home audio systems.

SanDisk Corporation has announced that seven companies will offer a variety of Sansa licensed accessories for its Sansa portable media players under a new Made for Sansa program. These include speaker docks, travel cases, headphones, armbands, FM auto transmitters, chargers and cables.

“We are pleased to welcome the first partners in our Sansa accessory program,” said Eric Bone, SanDisk’s director of consumer products marketing. “With each new addition to the line of licensed Sansa accessories, we are creating a more complete ecosystem for enhancing the user experience among the growing base of Sansa owners. Now our users will have many options to enhance, customize and personalize their SanDisk players.”

Companies represented in this initial group of accessory manufacturers are Altec Lansing, DLO (Digital Lifestyle Outfitters), Griffin Technology, HandStands, Macally Peripherals, Maximo Products and Speck Products. Many items will be available in the fourth quarter of this year, in time for the holiday shopping season.

SanDisk Sansa Base Station deviceSanDisk also announced the Sansa Base Station accessory for its e200 series and new c200 series of MP3 players. The ‘must-have’ device allows users to dock a player, connect to and play audio content through an external entertainment system instead of a headphone, operate the player with a remote control, automatically charge the internal batteries of the c200 and e200 players, and transfer data between the player and a PC.
