Samsung SyncMaster 940BW Widescreen LCD Monitor Review

March 1st 2007 | Displays

Samsung isn’t trying to convince anyone that they need the Samsung SyncMaster 940BW widescreen monitor to replace a standard display, they just want to have a cost effective option on the table for the movie buff to be able to use to enjoy a good movie on a high quality LCD panel. And thanks to this monitor having HDCP support, high definition isn’t a problem as well.

..If you are looking for a true gaming monitor, although this monitor does have a fast 4ms response rate, I honestly would move on to a standard resolution monitor unless your games support the different widescreen resolutions. Very few games actually support widescreen displays.

If you are a movie buff that also wants a good LCD monitor for home/office work and wouldn’t mind the minor extra scrolling, than this monitor will be perfect for you. It has an amazingly bright picture for its specifications and will bring a whole new level of enjoyment to DVD viewing on your computer, or from a HDCP compliant DVD player.
