DVD recording itself is also under pressure from the newer internal hard drive based camcorders being released within the last year. The only thing that will keep them on the market for quite some time is the ease of use and their more affordable pricing. The one thing that DVD camcorder users enjoy the most is that they can record a video and instantly play it on their DVD players without having to worry about a computer or converting the content to DVD. Just record, then remove the disc from the player, then insert it into your DVD player and play.
It can’t get any simpler and take it from a user with a MiniDV camcorder… buy a DVD camcorder and enjoy the simplicity of not having to burn your content onto a DVD for distribution. You will know what I mean when you record a family wedding and everyone wants copies… yeesh. You might find this quite an affordable camcorder to sneak into someone’s stocking for Christmas.
