Razer eXactMat Review

December 1st 2004 | Peripherals

Razer’s eXactMat is built identically on each side, allowing it to be turned over to expose whichever surface you choose; this is quite unlike the fUnc sUrface 1030, which requires you to remove a plastic rectangle from the rubber base, flip it, and try to reseat it without stretching the base. The surfaces on each side of the eXactMat are at two different ends of the texture spectrum. The Control side is highly textured, providing a good grip for ball mice and stop-on-a-dime control for optical mice. The Speed side is extremely flat, resulting in nearly resistance-free acceleration and very little tactile feedback.

…If you’re in the market for a new mousing surface or two, Razer’s eXactMat is a product to keep on your watch list. The two-sided approach provides two distinctly different surfaces for application-specific or mouse-specific use. The limited edition neoprene sleeve is eye catching and protects the surface during transport or display. Altogether, it’s a well-designed mousing surface that will fit nicely into almost any situation.
