Quad FX Boards to Cost Around $300

November 27th 2006 | Hardware

Despite the rumour that a pair of Nvidian chipsets will cost the earth, the final retail/etail board will cost around $/€300. It means it will end up just a bit more expensive than Nvidia’s flagship Nforce 680i Intel motherboard that sells for $/€270 already.

Sources from another part of the pound also confirmed that two FX CPUs will be "price competitive" with Kentsfield Intel’s Quad core. This gives you an idea. We can also confirm that the first 4×4 Quad FX boards come from Asus only and the others to follow later.
