PNY XLR8 GeForce 9800 GTX OC 512MB Review

The PNY XLR8 9800GTX OC, an overclocked version of nVidia’s 9800GTX, is pitched at enthusiast games without the cash to splash on a new GTX 200 Series:

The XLR8 9800GTX OC is an attempt to inject a little more life into a once-flagship graphics card for just £30 premium (around £220 [ ~US$300 ]). But with jaw-dropping GeForce 9800GX2 cards in the wild (two GeForce 9800 graphics processors on a single card), is simply overclocking a 9800GTX enough? The answer is yes - if value is considered.

If you’re looking for a more advanced-than-average graphics card, the 9800GTX OC XLR8 could be just the ticket. PNY even throws in a copy of Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts, two VGA to DVI-I converters, two 6-pin PCI Express power adapters, and an S-Video to component converter (provides 1080i output on a HDTV). Pound for pound, this GPU packs great performance, but it’s still not a huge improvement on the 8800GTX.
