There are not that many portable gaming mice on the market, so right there OCZ already has an edge. There are a few portable laser mice, most notably Logitech’s VX Revolution and Microsoft’s Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000, but the OCZ mouse’s gaming-specific design sets it apart. Because this is the mobile version that does not mean it is only good for use on the road though, if you prefer a smaller mouse, nothing is preventing you from using this at home.
While it is easy to be skeptical of a company like OCZ (who does not specialize in input devices) entering into the gaming mouse market, the Equalizer ended up being a very good product. It is well designed, properly layed out, and has a features that their competition should be on the lookout for. Combine those with a sub-$45 price tag and it looks like this mouse could be a solid purchase.
Buyers should make sure to check that they are buying the desktop version of the mouse, unless they know they want something small or need a mobile gaming mouse. XYZC Editor’s Choice Award
