The guys at OCZ
Technology appear to be having problems with their memory. No, they don’t
keep losing their car keys down the back of the sofa…
The volume of complaints over counterfeit OCZ memory modules is having an adverse effect
on their reputation and they’re having to work hard to correct the issue. Mr
Anonymous sent in the following text - which looks like it’s part of OCZ’s
press release - OCZ
Counterfeit Identification Guide - a fairly simple way to identify what’s
really underneath that heat spreader…
“We at OCZ have been plagued over the last year by complaints about counterfeit OCZ DDR and
rambus modules. Some of these were sold by large distribution companies into the
channel and the quantities cannot be accurately estimated. If you think you have
a counterfeit OCZ module you should contact us at counterfeits@ocztechnology.com
so that our team can address the issue. We found that a large quantity of RMA’ed
OCZ modules recently were counterfeit. The pictorial bellow will help you identify
counterfeit OCZ modules.“Full press release: OCZ
