NVIDIA’s Geforce 7900 GT beats ATI’s X1800XT

Our first lab tests show that the $300 priced 7900 GT actually can beat X1800XT. This comes as a huge surprise, as just a few months ago X1800XT was the fastest card that ATI had to offer. Nvidia is not just faster… Its chip is significantly smaller and cheaper to produce and it can be highly overclocked. It also runs much cooler and the fan is quiet.

Even if Geforce 7800 GT loses over X1800 XT 256 MB, a lot of manufacturers will offer overclocked versions. EVGA is one of them and EVGA clocks its e-GeForce 7900 GT CO SUPERCLOCKED card to 550MHz core and 1580MHz memory. This card sure kicks ATI’s butt, big time.
