NVIDIA Wins Aldi PC Deal - GeForce 6600XL Inside

November 19th 2004 | NVIDIA

TWICE A YEAR Nvidia and ATI square up to win ALdi’s business. Our non European readers might not be aware that Aldi is a food chain similar to Wal*Mart. This time Nvidia is swooning in paroxysms of delight, because Aldi/Hofer decided to put Nvidia’s 6600GT in their PCs. The Aldi PC went on sale on the 17th and is equipped with a Pentium 4 3.4 GHz, 512MB of DDR 400 Memory, TV card, 8×1 card reader, 250 GB WD HDD many USBs, Firewire and of course an Nvidia card.

Nvidia 6600XL is a 400MHz clocked NV43 PCI Express baby with memory also clocked at a lower speed than at Geforce 6600GT. It’s still faster than the 6600 standard that is clocked at 300MHz core.

…You won’t be able to get these cards in retail shops only in those PC, and we know that ALDI create madness with their sales they sell all the machines every single time in a matter of hours. Did I mention that it costs less than €1099? [No, you didn't, Fudo. Ed.] Go for them if you need a new PC I doubt you will get it cheaper.
