TAIWAN HAS ALREADY seen the first batch of C19 chipsets and tier one motherboard manufacturers are playing with them as we speak. C19 is Nvidia’s well kept code name for its Pentium 4 chipset project. Without a doubt, it’s a Pentium 4 SLI capable chipset and it’s already started shipping/sampling. R&D departments of tier one motherboard companies are playing with them and they should have some sample boards ready even now.
It’s not yet ready for retail shipping but this actually might happen in very early 2005. This will make Nvidia dominant in the SLI market for a while and we can only hope that ATI will make its SLI work in early Q2, as we suggested before.
Nforce 5 is very close and you can bet that Dell likes this idea a lot. We can say that the Pentium 4 version of the Nforce chipset will look very similar to its Athlon brother, but we don’t know whether it will include Sound Storm or not. There is always hope.
