NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT Review

September 15th 2005 | Graphics Cards

The GeForce 7800 GT is every bit similar to the GTX variant as far as features and technologies are concerned. What differentiates the second entrant in the GeForce 7 family is its slightly reduced processing prowess. Operating at 400/1000 MHz for its core and memory respectively, it is equipped with 7 vertex engines and 20 pixel shader pipelines.

Having analyzed the performance of the GeForce 7800 GT in all our benchmarks and real world game tests, the GeForce 7800 GT fits snugly in NVIDIA’s lineup like a glove with performance standings right smack center in between the GeForce 6800 Ultra and the GeForce 7800 GTX.

With lower operating temperatures, power consumption and suggested retail price than the GTX sibling, the GeForce 7800 GT looks to be an excellent alternative for those with slightly lesser budgets. Additionally, overclocking aficionados would have no problem pushing the GT to rival the GTX as we’ve demonstrated in our vendor graphics card reviews.
