While the demand for portable music is at an all time high, the next stage in the portable entertainment market is video. Apple recently released the 5th generation iPod that allows video, and while this technically isn’t a new ability, it has finally brought it to the general publics’ attention. There are alternatives to the iPod Video; one of those alternatives is the NHJ Limited MPM-201 MPEG4 Personal Video Recorder.
NHJ Limited has a very solid player on their hands. While the menu screens look pretty basic, the unit shines while playing audio and video. It has a few issues, which could easily be addressed by a firmware update, but it does have the potential to be a great player! With all of the necessary accessories and bundled software, the unit is worth consideration if you are in the market for such a device… Overall I have to give this a final score of 4 out of 5 stars, and a rating of "Recommended".
