nForce C51 TV Problem Confirmed

SysOpt.com’s review of the C51-based Foxconn WinFast 6150K8MA-8EKRS motherboard appears to support the Inquirer’s claims that C51 has a TV out problem:

We wrote that Asus and MSI had its problems with this TV out and now it turns out that Foxconn board also has some difficulties. The reviewer actually claims that this is the worst TV out that he saw in his life. I guess that Nvidia is hoping that people won’t be using the TV out feature and most probably won’t, but people don’t want to buy a product and learn that at least one of its nice features doesn’t work.

Yes, it’s that bad. This is in fact the worst TV output we’ve seen. Moving the output cable around revealed the noise source to be an unshielded breakout cable surrounded by high-frequency circuits. Hopefully Foxconn is able to cure this in later editions with a shielded cable, but buyers of the current model will definitely want to avoid using the S-Video output until then! Since TV-Out is indeed “out,” it’s time to move on to more promising aspects of this board.
