nForce 64? Crush K8 For The Hammer

January 19th 2003 | NVIDIA

me&er points out an interesting read on NVIDIA’s nForce Hammer over at The Inquirer. Two versions will be available, says the article: one SPP (Sysyem Platform Processor), one IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) version with integrated GeForce4 MX graphics codenamed Crush K8G. Full production of the chips will start “in time to meet the possible late March, early April AMD launch and volume production” and “could be easily named Nforce 64“…“Nvidia will not mess with the memory controller since this is now AMD’s job and this is pretty much all that Nvidia will do about this core. As for the south bridge, you may expect similar things that you saw with Nforce 2 since it will use MCPn equipped with UDMA 133, USB 2.0, Firewire, LAN and a nice Nvidia audio solution.”
