MySpace Restarted After US Heatwave Causes Shutdown

MySpace, the world’s most popular networking website, has restarted after being shut down for more than half a day following a power cut. The company blamed the closure on record-breaking heat in Los Angeles where its data servers are held. The high temperatures caused "massive power outages" a spokesman for the company said.

MySpace has suffered intermittent down time over the past fortnight. Last October, a few lines of invalid JavaScript on a user’s web page brought the site to its knees. The author, who was learning AJAX programming for the first time, put the blame on web browsers executing invalid code.
