THG takes a look at MSI’s all-singing, all-dancing MEGA 180 Mini PC (nForce2 + MCP-T):
MSI’s latest mini-PC, the MEGA 180, was designed to appease gamers with an nForce2 chipset for AthlonXP processors. For interior-decorated-minded users, the MEGA 180 comes in a nice-to-look-at colorful box. While the system has the Hi-Fi sound features of its predecessor, the MEGA 180 represents a major revamp, with new features such as Wi-Fi wireless networking capabilities built in.
..The chipset used for this version is the best choice for AMD processors. With native dual display, it means you won’t need the video card at first. But performance equivalent to a GeForce4 MX 440 will not be enough for hardcore gamers hankering for the latest 3D games. MSI will thus eventually need to add a next-generation video card. MSI also offers the Mega 865, equipped, as its name implies, with the Intel i865 chipset, for those who want to go the Pentium 4 processor way.
