MSI K9N Platinum Review

September 14th 2006 | nForce 500

The MSI K9N Platinum is a well featured board for it’s price. With a bit of soldering, it can be changed into an SLI board, but for most, spending the extra $20 for the 570 SLI chipset might be wiser.

For now, it appears to be one of the better AM2 motherboards for overclocking, but still leaves a lot to be desired for the hardcore overclocker. I would highly recommend the K9N Platinum to the overclocker who won’t be going to extremes and wants to remain on a tighter budget. For the benchers going for every last MHz trying to get the most performance possible… well, you would be best off with a Core2Duo system anyhow!
