MSI K9AGM2 (AMD 690G) mATX Motherboard Review

April 25th 2007 | Hardware

Based on AMD’s latest 690G chipset, the K9AGM2 is a microATX solution perfectly suited for an HTPC setup:

The K9AGM2 is best suited for an HTPC setup- especially with its HDMI interface that is pretty much a standard on most high definition displays. Using a low profile chassis along the size of 1U or 2U racks, such as Silverstone’s cccc, it would certainly prove to be an attractive setup. The lack of active cooling also works out nicely for a noise-free solution.

That being said, the performance numbers posted on the previous pages are pretty decent and you wont make a bad decision should you chose to make a gaming PC out of the K9AGM2.

Last and certainly not the least, the K9AGM2 features AMD’s Surroundview option that can power three individual displays simultaneously using the integrated GPU as well as one additional VGA card. The K9AGM2 can certainly wear a lot of hats.
