MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (nForce3 Ultra) Review

Testing the K8N Neo2 has been a very interesting experience. Before beginning the article we had assumed that the board would be second best when compared to the newer Nforce4 and Radeon Xpress based boards. We couldn’t have been more wrong. In all but one area of performance (memory) the K8N Neo2 Platinum matched or beat the A8N SLI and Radeon Xpress boards which is an excellent achievement. When you consider also that the K8N’s memory scores were 10% slower than the other 2 products and that it was using a slower graphics card this becomes all the more impressive.

..If you’re looking to upgrade your existing AGP motherboard or are looking for a board to use when upgrading from an older AGP platform to the newer 939 pci express boards then we unreservedly recommend the K8N Neo2 Platinum. It’s the best AGP based Athlon 64 board we’ve tested by far and wont let you down with regards to performance, features or stability.
