MSI India Bundling NVIDIA 6600 Grfx Cards With K8N Diamond & K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Motherboards

Taiwan-based motherboard manufacturer Micro Star International (MSI) has announced its nForce4 chipset family motherboards. The MSI K8N Diamond and K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboards come with PCI Express x16 graphics interface and Nvidia’s SLI technology. The motherboards are for the AMD 64 processors. MSI India is bundling Nvidia 6600 graphics cards along with the motherboards and the promotion should last till January 31, according to Atul Arora, country sales representative of MSI. The standalone price of the Diamond series motherboard is Rs 16,000 plus taxes.

Arora said that the motherboard had fared well in benchmark tests, even improving over competitors’ performance. The company claimed that the PCI Express x16 eliminates the bottleneck of AGP 8X by doubling its speed and substituting the asynchronous transmitter with full-duplex architecture.

It said that the K8N Diamond could accelerate 3D performance by over 180% via two SLI-ready graphics cards. The Nvidia nForce4 chipset features configurable PCI Express lanes for SLI technology, and the graphics interface can be set as a single PCI Express x16 or dual PCI Express x8.
