MSI DR16-B Dual-Layer DVD Burner Review

November 26th 2004 | Storage

The performance of the MSI DR16-B was excellent. Its CPU utilization was a bit higher than normal but nothing out of the ordinary for a DVD unit. Those of you who like your PCs to be as quiet as possible will be happy with the DR16-B. It’s a bit loud when it initially spins up, but that only lasts a few seconds. After that it’s dead quiet even when reading DVD’s at full speed, and it does not get hot either. It’s nice to see MSI include the well-known and liked Nero Burning ROM program instead of some random CD burning application. So if you want to modernize your system, the MSI DR16-B is a great place to start!
