Overall the Zune is a good device. The execution of the Zune itself was done quite well but the software of the Zune seems to be it’s biggest weakness. Thankfully, software can be updated (as can firmware) so there is still hope for future improvements in these areas. The WiFi capability of the Zune is barely being tapped to its full potential so further advancement of this feature is definitely something to look forward to.
As a first attempt in the mp3 player market, the Zune is respectable and makes looking forward to the second version of the Zune something worth being excited about. Currently the Zune is priced around $230USD online which is comparable to the price of the 5th Gen 30GB Video iPod. The biggest advantages the Zune has over the iPod is definitely the screen and the fact that it comes with a built in FM tuner so if you enjoy watching videos on your media player, the Zune really makes a strong case for itself.
