Hardware Zone reviews the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite offering ergonomic comfort with plenty of functionality, not forgetting a mouse with a scan rate good enough for surfing and gaming.

It’s very hard not to like the Wireless Desktop Elite set from Microsoft. For a set of input device, the comfort level and build quality is truly top notch. Well, for an eye-popping price tag nearly touching the S$170 mark, anything less than the above-mentioned is probably unacceptable. The keyboard is quiet, responsive and soft enough to perform fast-touch typing on it. The inclusion of the left-handed scroll wheel with tilt technology and back/forward buttons on the keyboard are a nice touch as well. Keyboard appearance with the silver Hotkeys on the black base makes this keyboard a real black beauty, and with keys that have a good tactile feel to it makes this keyboard with substance too.

..Of course, all these functionality and comfort comes at a price. At a cost of S$169, the Wireless Desktop Elite might be considered too expensive for many. But look at it this way, if you’re willing to pay a premium price for an ergonomic chair for your back, flat flicker-free LCD panels for your eyes, why not comfortable input devices like the Wireless Desktop Elite for your wrists? At the end of the day, if you’re one who’s willing to pay for comfort, we’re sure you’ll love the Wireless Desktop Elite the moment you lay your hands on it. Oh, by the way, batteries ARE included.
