Microsoft on Tuesday plans to release a patch for critical flaws in its Windows operating system, according to a security bulletin on its Web site on Thursday:
CNET News - Microsoft’s Thursday notice did not specify whether one of the patches will be for Internet Explorer. Over the last few weeks, several security researchers have come forward with flaws in the Web browser. Some of these vulnerabilities could let an attacker gain control of a user’s PC.
the INQ - Vole is not saying what the problem might be, but it carries Microsoft’s critical warning so it will probably be pretty important.. ..We wonder if there is much value in warning us that a patch is coming but not giving us a clue about what it might be for. Perhaps it is possible for management to cancel the network manager’s holiday, if he has any around next week, but that is about it.
Microsoft will also release an updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool at the same time.
