Microsoft Corp is expected to double its orders from its suppliers in Taiwan for chips to be used on its Xbox 360 game console in the second quarter to June from the first quarter, the Commercial Times reported, citing industry sources.
Microsoft is set to further consolidate its market standing at a time when Japan’s Sony Corp is unlikely to launch its next-generation PS3 game console until the fourth quarter of the year, sources told the paper.
